Consultant PICU

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for a Consultant in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) located in Abu Dhabi. The Consultant will be responsible for managing and overseeing the care of critically ill pediatric patients. Key tasks include diagnosing and treating complex medical conditions, leading the PICU team, ensuring high standards of care, and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive treatment plans for patients. The Consultant will also participate in the training and development of junior medical staff and contribute to the continuous improvement of the PICU services.

Qualifications

• Medical Degree (MBBS/MD or equivalent) from a recognized institution.
• Completed specialty training in Pediatrics and sub-specialization/fellowship in Pediatric Intensive Care Medicine (CCT, FRCPCH, American Board, Arab Board, or equivalent).
• Valid DOH (Department of Health Abu Dhabi) Consultant license or eligibility.
• Minimum 8–10 years of post-specialization experience in pediatrics, including at least 3–5 years in PICU at a consultant level.
• Expertise in advanced life support, invasive/non-invasive ventilation, and pediatric resuscitation.
• Strong leadership, communication, and decision-making skills.
• Fluency in English (Arabic is an advantage).
