Description
The Assistant F&B Manager supports daily food and beverage operations and helps ensure that guests receive efficient, welcoming and consistent service. Working with the F&B Manager and frontline teams, the role assists with staffing, outlet readiness, stock control and service standards. It combines hands-on operational supervision with reporting, problem-solving and coaching to keep service running smoothly during busy periods. The successful applicant should be organised, dependable and committed to following operating procedures while helping the team deliver reliable results.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the daily operation of food and beverage outlets, lounges or assigned service areas.
- Coordinate team deployment and shift activities to maintain service coverage and respond to changing customer demand.
- Monitor food presentation, service quality, cleanliness and compliance with health, safety and hygiene procedures.
- Help manage stock, supplies and equipment, reporting shortages and supporting accurate inventory controls.
- Respond to guest feedback and service issues, escalating complex matters and following through on agreed solutions.
- Support training, coaching and performance feedback to help colleagues maintain consistent service standards.
- Prepare operational updates and support the manager with cost awareness, service reviews and improvement actions.
Requirements
- Experience in food and beverage service or hospitality operations is relevant to the role.
- Confidence supervising frontline colleagues and coordinating activities during busy service periods.
- Strong customer-service, communication and problem-solving skills.
- A practical understanding of hygiene, stock control, service standards and daily operational reporting.
Qualifications and Skills
- Hospitality, food and beverage or related training is useful, alongside practical service experience.
- The role requires reliable organisation, a guest-focused attitude and the ability to support the manager in day-to-day decisions.
