Description

The Uniform Attendant / Seamstress is responsible for mending, altering, and maintaining guest clothing and employee uniforms. The role includes handling laundry and dry-cleaning requests, repairing garments using sewing techniques, and managing uniform distribution and inventory. This position plays a key role in ensuring all team members are well-presented and guests’ garment care needs are met with professionalism and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities

Garment Care and Repairs
  • Mend, alter, and repair guest garments and staff uniforms using hand stitching, adhesive patches, or sewing machines.
  • Perform minor pressing or ironing tasks as required.
  • Ensure guest laundry/dry cleaning and repair requests are documented and processed according to brand standards.
  • Inspect uniforms for wear and damage, removing substandard items from circulation and issuing replacements.
  • Forward severely damaged uniforms to appropriate vendors or departments for repair or disposal.
Uniform Management
  • Distribute clean uniforms to employees according to company specifications and track issued items.
  • Record the return, distribution, and cleaning status of uniforms, including both assigned and unassigned inventory.
  • Maintain proper storage and organization of uniforms to ensure accessibility and cleanliness.
General Responsibilities
  • Follow all safety and security policies and procedures, including reporting hazards, incidents, or maintenance issues.
  • Maintain a clean, professional appearance and comply with grooming standards.
  • Handle proprietary information with confidentiality and protect company assets.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues, supporting team goals and addressing concerns respectfully.
  • Provide professional, courteous service to guests, including those with disabilities.
  • Communicate clearly and respectfully with guests and team members.
  • Perform other duties as requested by supervisors, including cross-functional assistance as needed.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods or for the entire shift.
  • Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 10 pounds without assistance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Education: No high school diploma or GED required
  • Experience: At least 1 year of related experience in garment repair, tailoring, or uniform services
  • Supervisory Experience: None
  • License/Certification: Not required
