Engineer – Facilities Management – Hard Services

This role supports the safe, reliable operation of buildings and facilities by coordinating hard-services maintenance, inspections and technical repairs. The engineer works with site teams and service partners to protect asset performance, meet service-level expectations and resolve faults promptly. This position is part of facilities engineering and technical services and contributes to reliable, professional day-to-day delivery. The successful candidate will follow established procedures, maintain accurate information and work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve agreed standards.

Key Responsibilities

The main responsibilities include the following:

• Inspect building systems and coordinate planned preventive maintenance for mechanical, electrical, plumbing and other assigned services.
• Investigate equipment faults, assess risks, arrange corrective repairs and follow issues through to verified completion.
• Coordinate technicians, specialist contractors, permits and site access while ensuring work follows approved procedures.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, asset information, inspection reports and outstanding-action logs.
• Monitor service performance, recurring faults, material usage and response times, recommending practical reliability improvements.

A practical understanding of the function, sound prioritisation and timely escalation will help protect quality, safety, cost and customer commitments.

Requirements and Qualifications

• A technical qualification in mechanical, electrical, building services or a closely related engineering discipline is relevant.
• Experience in facilities management, building maintenance or hard-services operations is expected for an effective start.
• Knowledge of preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, contractor coordination and basic safety controls is important.
• Candidates should be comfortable reading technical documents, using maintenance systems and preparing clear reports.

Candidates should show relevant experience, learn local procedures quickly and meet any required statutory or professional standards.
