Khalifa University’s Department of Mathematics invites applications for faculty positions at the Assistant or Associate Professor rank. We are seeking candidates whose research and teaching intersect with areas such as computational/applied mathematics, mathematical modelling, machine learning & AI, and biomathematics/biotechnology — especially those whose work can drive real-world applications, external funding, and innovation in collaboration with Khalifa University Enterprises Company (KUEC).

Qualifications & Rank Requirements

• PhD in Mathematics or a closely related field.
• Assistant Professor: Early-career scholars with research potential and postdoctoral or equivalent experience.
• Associate Professor: At least 8 years of academic experience, with a strong track record in research, funding, and leadership.

Faculty Responsibilities

• Teaching & Mentoring: Undergraduate and postgraduate instruction, curriculum development, student supervision.
• Research & Innovation: Independent, high-impact research aligned with KU’s strategic focus areas:

• Healthy Longevity
• Academic Service: Departmental, university, and community engagement.

Research Focus Areas

Applicants should demonstrate alignment with KU’s research verticals and digital/advanced materials platforms, such as:

• Clean energy, sustainable fuels, and CO₂ capture
• Water, waste, and environmental modeling
• Bioinformatics, medical technologies, health analytics
• Robotics, AI, data science, and HPC-enabled simulation

Candidate Profile

Essential:

• Strong publication record and research vision
• Teaching experience and commitment to inclusive pedagogy
• Clear plans (Assistant) or track record (Associate) of funding, IP, and collaboration

Desirable:

• Industry engagement, commercialization/start-ups
• Leadership in large projects or consortia
