Description
The Specialist in Statistics and Data Analysis will turn transport and operational data into reliable statistics, analytical products and decision-support insights. The position works across transport networks, control-center data and statistical systems, supporting evidence-based planning and improving the quality, accessibility and usefulness of mobility information. This is a full-time opportunity based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
Key Responsibilities
- Calibrate and update transport models using internal and external data, integrating road networks, public transport, demographic and land-use information for scenario analysis.
- Analyze traffic and transport-network performance indicators and prepare recommendations for planning and operational teams.
- Develop and maintain statistical matrices, frameworks, classifications and data sources for enterprise command and control environments.
- Collect, classify and analyze data from roads, mobility, traffic and operational systems while applying approved governance and quality standards.
- Prepare analytical studies and reports that support strategic planning, operational decisions and transport-network management.
- Manage internal and external data requests and ensure statistics are accurate, traceable and compliant with approved methodologies.
- Validate official statistics used in leadership communications, presentations, publications and annual reporting.
- Support data-product and dashboard development by gathering requirements, assessing new data sources and applying big-data techniques to improve situational awareness.
Requirements
Candidates should demonstrate the technical knowledge, analytical ability and stakeholder skills needed to operate effectively in a structured public-sector environment.
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering or a related discipline.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience with a master’s degree or 5 years with a bachelor’s degree.
- Strong statistical analysis, data-quality and reporting skills.
- Ability to work with large datasets, transport information, models, dashboards and data products.
- Understanding of data governance, classification, analytical methodologies and stakeholder requirements.
- Strong communication skills and attention to accuracy.
