Third Commis Chef – Bakery

Qatar Airways is recruiting a Third Commis Chef – Bakery in Doha. The role supports daily food preparation by completing tasks assigned by the section chef or supervisor, preparing ingredients and mise en place, and maintaining hygiene and storage standards. It is suited to an early-career kitchen professional who can follow recipes and work efficiently as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare assigned food items and bakery mise en place in accordance with menus, recipes and portion specifications.
• Collect instructions at the start of the shift and organise work to meet the kitchen’s daily requirements.
• Assist senior chefs with ingredient preparation and the completion of assigned kitchen tasks.
• Maintain personal hygiene, grooming and cleanliness in food preparation, storage and refrigeration areas.
• Follow food-safety requirements and first-in, first-out procedures for raw materials and prepared products.
• Monitor ingredients used in the section and alert the supervisor when stock or preparation needs attention.

Requirements

• High-school qualification.
• Up to 2 years of relevant experience is suitable for the role.
• Basic food-hygiene knowledge, basic cooking techniques, literacy and numeracy are required.
• Candidates should be able to read instructions, communicate in English and follow directions from senior kitchen staff.
