Job Purpose

To supervise and coordinate workshop operations with a specific focus on classic and vintage cars refurbishment. The role ensures efficient execution of mechanical, electrical, and aesthetic restoration works while maintaining the highest standards of quality, authenticity, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Workshop Operations

  • Oversee daily repair, restoration, and certification activities for classic vehicles.
  • Ensure strict adherence to workshop procedures, maintaining authenticity and accuracy in all vintage restorations.
  • Develop and monitor monthly schedules and budgets; track performance and initiate corrective actions as required.
  • Maintain complete electronic documentation for all projects, including historical records, repair logs, and photographic evidence.
  • Liaise with OEM Classic & Heritage departments for technical and authenticity support.
  • Keep updated with international best practices in classic car restoration.
  • Ensure smooth supply of parts; recommend alternatives (including cannibalization) where urgent.
  • Supervise mechanics, ensuring workflows, processes, and quality standards are consistently met.
  • Monitor workshop equipment (lifts, washers, tools), ensuring regular maintenance and safe operation.
  • Track and resolve repeat job issues, analyze trends, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Submit product quality feedback reports through the Technical Support Specialist to OEMs.
  • Recommend adjustments to labor times and recovery charges as needed.

People Management

  • Lead and inspire a team of specialized technicians, ensuring work quality aligns with heritage standards.
  • Monitor technician performance, productivity, and quality, providing coaching where required.
  • Implement training and skill development plans to enhance expertise in classic car mechanics, tools, and restoration methods.
  • Propose and manage annual leave plans, ensuring smooth operations during absences.

Customer & Quality Focus

  • Support service staff to maintain tools and equipment while controlling costs without compromising safety.
  • Handle escalated technical issues, ensuring customer satisfaction and loyalty.
  • Drive continuous improvement in technician productivity, warranty policy implementation, and overall workshop performance.

  • Graduate Degree or Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical/Technical) discipline and management qualification
