Description
We are seeking a skilled professional to support the implementation of a robust Compliance Monitoring Program, focusing on Customer Name Screening and other surveillance-related activities. This role is critical in ensuring adherence to internal policies, procedures, and external regulatory requirements across all jurisdictions in which the bank operates.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Contribution- Support the execution of the Group-wide Compliance strategy within the First Line of Defence (FLOD) by effectively managing Customer Name Screening activities.
- Align screening practices with the bank’s control environment, continuously assessing effectiveness, tools, and techniques.
- Collaborate with Group Compliance (Second Line of Defence) to define requirements, address gaps, and manage the bank’s risk appetite.
- Contribute to the development of the training and competency framework for the Customer Name Screening team.
- Provide mentorship, on-the-job training, and facilitate knowledge-sharing sessions locally and with international teams.
- Identify areas for improvement in screening systems, processes, and methodologies, based on risk indicators and control deficiencies.
- Recommend and implement enhancements to screening parameters to maximize efficiency and compliance effectiveness across all FAB jurisdictions.
- Collaborate with the Technology, Data & Reporting team on the development and tracking of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Key Risk Indicators (KRIs).
- Ensure timely and accurate delivery of Management Information (MI) related to Customer Screening.
Functional Expertise – Customer Name Screening
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Sanctions, AML/KYC, and regulatory guidelines relevant to FAB’s international network.
- Stay informed of screening technologies, industry practices, and CBUAE/international regulations impacting surveillance functions.
- Support the review and revision of FLOD Compliance policies and procedures as needed.
Analyst Responsibilities
- Conduct name screening for Sanctions, Politically Exposed Persons (PEPs), Adverse Media, and other watch lists across UAE and international clients.
- Analyze alerts and investigate matches to determine risk relevance.
- Escalate significant issues to management with detailed findings.
- Perform data gathering and evidence collection using internal systems, internet research, and engagement with internal business units.
- Conduct Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) as required.
- Report unusual or suspicious KYC findings related to sanctions, money laundering, or terrorist financing.
- Ensure all investigations comply with internal policies and regulatory standards.
- Build and maintain expertise in global AML/CFT and sanctions frameworks.
Generic Responsibilities

Actively participate in compliance-related projects as assigned by Group Compliance.
Qualifications
Minimum Education
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Management, Banking, Finance, or a related field.
- Professional certifications in Compliance, Sanctions Screening, Transaction Monitoring, KYC/AML/CFT, Financial Crime, or Risk Management are preferred.
Technical Competencies & Experience
- 3–5 years of banking experience in a reputable institution.
- Minimum 2 years in a Customer Screening or related compliance role.
- Sound understanding of Sanctions, AML/CFT regulations, and global compliance requirements.
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
- Positive, proactive, and collaborative mindset.
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
