Description
Job Purpose
This role is responsible for managing and overseeing the substantial investment book within the Emirati Segment, including products such as Certificates of Deposit, Fixed Income, Mutual Funds, Equities, and Structured Products. The candidate will provide tailored investment solutions aligned with each client’s risk profile, support Relationship Managers (RMs) in delivering investment advisory services, and play a key role in developing the bank’s investment strategy, offering, and governance practices for Emirati clients.
Key Responsibilities
Client Advisory & Portfolio Management- Engage directly with clients and RMs to deliver customized investment solutions based on client risk profiles, investment objectives, and market conditions.
- Conduct detailed investment account reviews to ensure alignment between investment holdings and client objectives.
- Act as the primary advisor for investment-related inquiries and objections, maintaining high standards of client centricity and transparency.
- Monitor, rebalance, and restructure client portfolios to enhance risk-adjusted returns and long-term satisfaction.
- Actively pursue the conversion of NTI (New-to-Investment) clients to grow the segment’s investment base.
- Conduct daily and weekly investment briefings for RMs and other internal stakeholders to share market outlook, tactical opportunities, and strategic views.
- Collaborate closely with Product, Research, and Portfolio Advisory teams to transform investment themes into actionable client offerings.
- Contribute to the development and communication of investment strategy across various asset classes, ensuring relevance to the Emirati clientele.
- Work cross-functionally with Compliance, Risk, Products, and other units to ensure governance, suitability, and appropriateness in investment advisory.
- Provide feedback to the Investment Product team to help shape the future of the bank’s offering based on client needs and market gaps.
- Uphold investment governance standards and act as a role model to Relationship Managers in implementing compliant, client-focused advisory practices.
- Support the upskilling of frontline staff through coaching on investment principles, market trends, and advisory techniques.
Key Result Areas
- Achievement of revenue, AUM, and NTI targets for the Emirati Segment investment business.
- Delivery of high-quality, client-centric investment solutions with measurable impact on client satisfaction and portfolio performance.
- Active expansion of the investment customer base and engagement levels across assigned books.
- Adherence to all regulatory and internal investment advisory policies and procedures.
- High level of contribution to strategy, product innovation, and internal collaboration.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
Technical Competencies- Strong knowledge of financial markets, macroeconomic trends, and investment instruments across all major asset classes.
- Proficiency in portfolio construction, asset allocation, and client risk profiling.
- In-depth understanding of product structuring, especially in Fixed Income, Structured Notes, Mutual Funds, and Equities.
- Proven experience in investment advisory, client engagement, and objection handling.
- Ability to translate complex market and product concepts into client-friendly solutions.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills—both internally and externally.
- Bachelor’s degree from a reputed institution; postgraduate qualifications are a plus.
- Professional certifications highly preferred: CFA, CAIA, or FRM (chartered or in progress).
- Minimum of 5–7 years of relevant experience in investment advisory, portfolio management, or wealth management.
