Job Purpose

To drive new-to-bank borrowing relationships with multinational corporations (MNCs) and large corporates based in the UAE and across Mashreq’s international footprint, in alignment with the bank’s growth strategy. The incumbent will be responsible for prospecting, onboarding, and managing these relationships, delivering tailored financial solutions that meet client needs while maximizing Mashreq’s revenue, cross-sell opportunities, and risk-adjusted returns.

Key Responsibilities

Client Origination & Business Development
  • Develop Mashreq’s brand profile among MNCs and corporates in the UAE and other key markets.
  • Identify and engage key decision-makers at target companies to build a strong pipeline of prospective clients.
  • Originate and structure new borrowing relationships that fall within the bank’s Target Market Criteria and Risk Acceptance Parameters.
  • Lead business development initiatives by understanding each client’s strategy, identifying opportunities, and designing bespoke financial solutions.
Relationship Management & Client Advisory
  • Act as a trusted advisor by offering holistic financial solutions across Lending, Transaction Banking, Treasury, and Investment Banking.
  • Own the end-to-end credit process: proposal writing, approval, documentation, and onboarding.
  • Conduct regular client visits to deepen relationships, ensure service excellence, and capture wallet share.
  • Monitor portfolio health, client satisfaction, and proactively address service issues.
Credit & Risk Management
  • Perform detailed credit and risk assessments to ensure alignment with the bank’s risk appetite and capital efficiency goals.
  • Ensure full compliance with all applicable internal policies, UAE Central Bank regulations, and global standards on AML, KYC, and operational risk.
  • Safeguard the bank’s position through accurate documentation and effective structuring.
Internal Collaboration & Execution
  • Coordinate with international offices, product partners, legal, and risk units to deliver cross-border banking solutions.
  • Maintain high-quality credit memos, client briefing notes, and business MIS/reporting tools.
  • Contribute to team strategy and portfolio planning, providing inputs based on market intelligence and client feedback.

Key Result Areas

  • New-to-Bank (NTB) client acquisitions in target MNC segments.
  • Revenue growth through new deals, increased cross-sell, and greater share of client wallet.
  • Portfolio quality through effective risk identification, mitigation, and periodic reviews.
  • Strategic client planning and deepening of key relationships in coordination with GRMs/LRMs.
  • Contribution to market intelligence and competitive benchmarking for continuous improvement.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

Qualifications & Background
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or related field (Master’s or professional certifications such as CFA, CA, or MBA are a plus).
  • Minimum 6–10 years of experience in corporate banking, with proven expertise in credit and client relationship management.
Technical Skills
  • Strong credit analysis and structuring skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of corporate banking products: term loans, working capital, cash management, trade finance, treasury, etc.
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks: UAE Central Bank regulations, compliance, AML, and credit policies.
Soft Skills & Competencies
  • Mature and independent professional capable of working under pressure.
  • Excellent networking and client engagement abilities.
  • Strategic and commercial mindset with a keen understanding of client businesses and markets.
  • High level of communication and negotiation skills, with fluency in English; proficiency in other languages is an advantage.
  • Effective report writing and presentation skills.
