Quality Control Chemist

Responsibilities:

• Coordinate with the Production Department on all quality control (QC)–related issues.
• Interact with plant visitors as and when required.
• Resolve basic quality issues within prescribed guidelines to ensure final product integrity.
• Prepare beverage mixing units and fillers by performing sanitation activities prior to daily production runs.
• Perform all specified laboratory tests on in-line samples during production at the frequency defined in the PI Quality Manual.
• Record all test results accurately in the quality sheets as outlined in the PI Manual.
• Conduct quality tests on PET blown bottles according to the procedures and frequency specified in the PI Quality Manual.
• Monitor finished product packaging integrity and date coding.
• Calibrate and document laboratory equipment at the frequency specified in the PI Quality Manual.
• Control and monitor syrup preparation processes and prepare control drinks as required.
• Verify that all incoming raw materials meet specifications by performing quality checks and documenting results.
• Ensure that QC tests at the CO₂ plant are performed at the correct frequency.
• Administer concentrate storage and rotation in accordance with the FIFO (First In, First Out) system, and monitor expiry dates.
• Oversee proper operation of syrup mixing, sugar addition, and ensure final syrup meets specifications.
• Maintain treated water quality within specifications as outlined in the PI Manual.
• Report any equipment malfunctions to the Maintenance Department promptly.
• Strictly adhere to all Food Safety and Hygiene policies and procedures.
• Monitor chemical dosages in the steam boiler and analyze boiler water to ensure conformity with standards.
• Perform annual carbon filter discharge and recharge for water treatment as per the maintenance schedule.
• Conduct quality tests on all imported CSD (Carbonated Soft Drink) consignments and report findings to the next level of management.
• Ensure proper housekeeping is consistently maintained throughout the plant.
