Job Purpose
Take full ownership of the Jacket & Piles subcontract/package from award through to project handover, ensuring delivery in line with contractual obligations, budget, and schedule, while adhering to corporate standards and industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities
Project & Package Management
- Act as the single point of accountability for the entire subcontract/package lifecycle from award to handover.
- Lead coordination across internal teams and external stakeholders to align execution with project objectives.
- Ensure engineering deliverables are completed in accordance with the project timeline, technical specifications, and cost targets.
- Oversee procurement activities to meet specification, timeline, and cost requirements.
Technical & Commercial Oversight
- Manage all technical documentation and correspondence, including RFIs, variations, claims, purchase orders, and meeting minutes.
- Provide technical assessment and recommendations on in-house systems and product applications.
- Support on-site teams with adjustments to designs and work scopes based on evolving site conditions.
Stakeholder & Contractor Engagement
- Interface with subcontractors and partners on all aspects of safety, planning, and quality control.
- Coordinate with the Quality Department to track and ensure compliance with the project Quality Plan.
- Ensure proper planning and execution through regular interaction with Planning and Cost Engineers.
Logistics, Risk & Budget Management
- Plan and coordinate logistics to support project delivery.
- Maintain and update risk registers, documenting assumptions, exclusions, and mitigation strategies.
- Monitor and control budget and expenditure profiles in alignment with project financial targets.
- Participate in regular cost and progress review meetings; provide timely and accurate reporting.
Performance Monitoring & Reporting
- Prepare short-term lookahead plans for progress meetings.
- Compile and analyze performance metrics for progress and cost tracking.
- Maintain daily work logs capturing key activities, delays, and challenges.
Construction & Fabrication Oversight
- Monitor fabrication schedules and ensure timely progress to meet project deadlines.
- Lead the overall workflow and execution of fabrication tasks, ensuring integration across disciplines.
Change & Claims Management
- Handle change orders, support claims preparation, and participate in dispute resolution as needed.
- Set up and manage Service Level Agreements or support contracts in conjunction with Cost Engineers.
Project Controls & Integration
- Ensure seamless coordination with other Project Engineers for proper integration of interrelated scopes.
- Maintain organized documentation, track changes, and manage confidential project information with discretion.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, or Naval Architecture (or equivalent).
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience with a major international EPC contractor.
- Extensive experience in project/package management for offshore or heavy fabrication projects (Jacket & Piles scope preferred).
- Proficiency in project estimation, cost control, forecasting, and financial reporting.
- Sound knowledge of project management systems, international codes and standards, and contractual practices.
- Hands-on experience with MS Office and basic planning software (e.g., Primavera or MS Project).
Skills & Competencies
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage multidisciplinary teams in complex project environments.
- In-depth understanding of the offshore/fixed/floating facilities and renewables sector.
- Demonstrated ability to manage change, resolve conflicts, and meet tight deadlines.
- Familiarity with HSE best practices and occupational safety standards.
- Highly organized with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Proven track record in subcontractor management, coordination, and successful project delivery.
