Lead Civil Design Engineer- Energy

As part of our long-term strategy and commitment to sustainability, we’re proud to announce our expansion into the Energy sector. Our new Energy Division will focus on clean and reliable power generation, spanning thermal, solar PV, wind, gas, hydro, and hybrid technologies.

We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Lead Civil Design Engineer(Energy) who is also driven by success to take charge of civil engineering design, review, and implementation across our power generation portfolio. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring civil works are accomplished successfully from design to implementation and handover for this diverse power generation portfolio of ours.

Key Responsibilities:

Design & Technical Oversight:

• Lead civil design activities for power plants, including material selection, layout, and interfaces to site equipment and/or obstructions.
• Review and approve civil drawings, specifications, and BOM's submitted by EPC contractors, OEMs, and consultants.
• Maintain flawless communication between the OEM's or Contractors and the design team or consultant to ensure the design works are completed punctually.
• Evaluate contractor proposals and conduct technical bid evaluations for civil works

Project Execution:

• Supervise civil works, ensuring compliance with design, quality, and safety standards.
• Monitor the compliance of the site activities with the design and alert the design team or the consultors to take necessary precautions or make applicable revisions on time.
• Lead site inspections.

Engineering Management & Quality Assurance:

• Establish and ensure application of internal standards and specifications for civil engineering applications.
• Work closely with the procurement and project management teams to manage technical risks, delays, and change orders.
• Conduct and record the tests and surveys on site.

Team Leadership & Collaboration:

• Provide mentorship and technical leadership to civil within the department.
• Act as the owner’s representative in meetings with EPC contractors, OEMs, and third-party engineers.
• Participate in HAZOP, design reviews, and risk assessments throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering (Master’s in relevant area is a plus).
• Minimum 10 years of experience in civil engineering, with 5+ years in the power generation sector (thermal, solar CSP, biomass, gas, or hybrid systems)
• Experience with software tools such as AutoCAD, Tekla, Revit, or equivalent; MS Project, Primavera or equivalent.
• Familiarity with international and local civil design standards (ISO, DIN, etc.)
• Demonstrated success in supporting EPC execution or owner’s engineering roles
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project coordination skills

Preferred:

• Experience in combined-cycle, cogeneration, or hybrid renewable plants
• Professional Engineering License (PE) or Chartered Engineer (CEng) preferred
• Experience in projects across developing markets or remote locations
