Qatar Airways (QR) is embarking on an exciting journey to transform the way we engage with our customers – and our people are at the heart of that change. As part of this evolution, we are pleased to introduce a new opportunity within our HR team: HR Assistant.

This is a locally based role in New York City, where you will play a key part in supporting the HR department across all personnel matters. Your responsibilities will include delivering accurate and timely administrative support in alignment with local labor legislation and Qatar Airways’ internal policies, helping ensure smooth and compliant HR operations.

Salary matrix for this role is $50,000 to $55,000.

The Ideal Candidate Will Be Responsible For The Below

  • Provide comprehensive administrative support to the HR team across key functions, including employee relations, benefits administration, reporting and compliance, calendar management, and travel coordination.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for employee inquiries, delivering timely, courteous, and accurate support.
  • Lead on-boarding and off-boarding processes, ensuring seamless transitions for new hires and departing employees through coordination with relevant departments.
  • Coordinate employee engagement initiatives, including wellness programs, recognition events, and employee surveys to foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
  • Facilitate internal HR communications, drafting announcements, newsletters, and updates to keep employees informed and engaged.
  • Generate and analyze HR reports and metrics, identifying trends in attrition, recruitment, and employee satisfaction to inform strategic decisions.
  • Contribute to special projects and cross-functional initiatives, offering HR insights and support to broader organizational efforts.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality in handling sensitive employee data, documentation, and HR-related matters.
  • Perform additional departmental duties as assigned by the Head of Department, aligned with the scope of the role and organizational needs.

Qualifications

About You: We’re looking for a candidate who brings the following qualifications and attributes:

  • 2–3 years of relevant HR experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and HRIS platforms
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management abilities
  • Analytical mindset with attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment
  • Proven relationship-building and collaboration skills across all levels of the organization
  • High level of discretion and integrity in handling confidential information
  • Proactive approach to problem-solving and task ownership
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, while managing multiple priorities
  • Flexibility and resilience in a fast-paced, evolving workplace
