Chief Specialist – Statistics & Data Analysis

Support the Enterprise Command & Control Department by applying transportation planning and engineering principles to data analytics and modeling. This role aims to optimize Dubai’s transportation systems and enhance the overall efficiency of the multi-modal network through strategic forecasting, simulation, and performance evaluation.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze transportation data to support network planning decisions and ensure model updates reflect changes in infrastructure and urban development.
• Use simulation software to assess the impact of infrastructure changes, policies, and events—both planned and unplanned—through scenario analysis.
• Develop, review, and update technical policies and procedures in coordination with stakeholders, aligned with RTA’s document management systems.
• Forecast demand across transportation modes and evaluate network capacity to inform infrastructure planning and service optimization.
• Establish KPIs and monitoring systems to evaluate transportation initiatives and identify areas for improvement.
• Prepare detailed engineering reports using data on population density, pedestrian activity, congestion, historical traffic, origin-destination patterns, and transit usage.
• Contribute to studies on emerging transportation modes such as e-scooters and aerial taxis.
• Lead knowledge-sharing initiatives, including workshops and induction programs for new employees.
• Conduct benchmarking studies, pilot projects, and research to explore innovative transportation solutions.
• Manage ECCD projects, including planning, budgeting, and resource allocation, ensuring timely and high-quality delivery.
• Supervise real-time transportation model operations, ensuring responsiveness and reliability.
• Develop integrated models incorporating multiple transportation modes to enhance intermodal connectivity and provide actionable insights.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by the Line Manager or Department Director.

Qualifications

Education

• Master’s degree in Transportation Planning or Traffic Engineering from a recognized university.

Experience

• Minimum 9 years of experience in transportation planning and traffic engineering.
