Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review job orders and make necessary adjustments to the printing machine.
  • Prepare, set up, operate, and maintain the printing press, including:
    • Installing printing plates with the required images and adjusting printing pressure.
    • Loading paper and adjusting the press according to paper size.
    • Feeding paper through press cylinders and adjusting feed and tension controls.
    • Filling ink and dampening solution fountains as needed.
    • Managing ink distribution, speed, and temperature for optimal print quality.
  • Adjust press machine parts as required for proper operation.
  • Regularly inspect the press for any malfunctions or irregularities.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks on the printing machine.
  • Troubleshoot minor mechanical issues (e.g., unusual noises or operational inconsistencies).
  • Coordinate with the in-house maintenance team for major repairs or malfunctions.
  • Clean the printing press and its peripherals after each use.
  • Record machine errors and corrective actions taken for future reference and analysis.
  • Monitor and analyze machine performance to identify potential issues.
  • Coach and mentor junior operators as needed.
  • Train new press operators and share effective techniques and best practices.
  • Conduct online research to gain additional knowledge about the specific press machines being used.
  • Show initiative by cross-training with other operators on different press machines to enhance skills.
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned by supervisors.
