Description
The Assistant Plant Operator supports routine plant activities and helps the operations team maintain safe, steady production. The role involves following operator instructions, observing equipment and work conditions, recording assigned information and supporting housekeeping. Consistent attention to procedures contributes to product quality and output targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Follow the shift plan and instructions from the responsible operator or supervisor.
- Monitor assigned process areas and report unusual sounds, readings, leaks or operating conditions.
- Assist with routine plant tasks and keep equipment areas clean and accessible.
- Maintain required logs or checklists accurately and share information at shift handover.
- Follow safety, product-quality and environmental procedures throughout the shift.
Requirements and Qualifications
Candidates should be physically fit for assigned plant tasks and shift work and able to follow instructions carefully. Teamwork, reliable record keeping and a strong safety mindset are important. Technical exposure to a plant environment is useful but exact qualifications depend on the operation.
