Foreman

The Foreman – Chiller Maintenance supervises and performs preventive, corrective and breakdown maintenance on water-cooled and air-cooled chillers and their auxiliary equipment. The work covers pumps, cooling towers, expansion tanks, piping networks and control systems. The Foreman leads HVAC technicians and helps maintain safe, efficient operation in line with manufacturer guidance and site HSE requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and supervise routine preventive maintenance for chillers and associated equipment.
• Diagnose and rectify mechanical, electrical and control-related faults and monitor operating values such as pressure, superheat, subcooling, oil levels and temperature differences.
• Oversee compressor overhauls, including dismantling, inspection, replacement of worn parts, reassembly, alignment, vacuuming, oil charging and recommissioning.
• Supervise refrigerant recovery, leak detection, pressure testing and gas charging in accordance with approved procedures.
• Coordinate chiller shutdowns and startups, maintain service reports and spare-parts records, and enforce permits to work, toolbox talks and site safety controls.

Requirements and Qualifications

Candidates should have practical chiller and HVAC maintenance knowledge, including troubleshooting and the safe maintenance of associated equipment. The role requires the ability to guide technicians, coordinate planned and breakdown work and follow manufacturer recommendations, permit-to-work procedures and site HSE requirements.
