Senior Registered Nurse – Endoscopy

The Senior Registered Nurse in Endoscopy supports patients before, during and after diagnostic or therapeutic endoscopic procedures. The role combines nursing assessment, preparation, monitoring, infection control, recovery support and coordination of the clinical area. Senior-level contribution also includes helping maintain standards, guiding colleagues and ensuring that equipment, records and patient handovers meet departmental requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess patients before procedures, confirm preparation requirements and identify clinical concerns for escalation to the responsible clinician.
• Assist the endoscopy team during procedures, maintaining patient comfort, safety, privacy and appropriate monitoring.
• Support post-procedure observation and recovery, recognise early warning signs and communicate changes promptly.
• Ensure instruments and equipment are handled, cleaned, stored and checked according to infection-prevention protocols.
• Guide team members, coordinate patient flow and maintain accurate nursing, procedural and recovery documentation.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Hold a recognised nursing qualification and the required UAE nursing licence for the role.
• Have relevant clinical experience in endoscopy, procedural nursing or a closely related acute-care environment.
• Understand patient preparation, monitoring, recovery processes, infection prevention and safe equipment handling.
• Be confident coordinating work, supporting colleagues and escalating clinical risks without delay.
