Senior Project Manager – Applications

The senior project manager leads application-related projects from planning through deployment and transition to support. The role aligns business goals, technical teams, budgets, risks and delivery schedules, ensuring that stakeholders understand progress and that solutions meet agreed requirements and operational needs. This position is part of business applications and technology project delivery and contributes to reliable, professional day-to-day delivery. The successful candidate will follow established procedures, maintain accurate information and work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve agreed standards.

Key Responsibilities

The main responsibilities include the following:

• Define project scope, objectives, milestones, delivery plans and resource requirements with business stakeholders.
• Coordinate application, infrastructure, vendor and business teams across design, configuration, testing and rollout.
• Manage risks, dependencies, changes, issues, budgets and schedules, escalating decisions when needed.
• Maintain governance, project documentation, status reporting and stakeholder communications.
• Plan testing, training, cutover and post-launch support to support smooth adoption and stable operations.

A practical understanding of the function, sound prioritisation and timely escalation will help protect quality, safety, cost and customer commitments.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Substantial project-management experience in business applications or technology delivery is relevant.
• A degree in information technology, computer science, business or a related field is preferred.
• Experience managing vendors, cross-functional teams, project risks and implementation timelines is important.
• Project-management certifications or structured delivery-method experience are advantageous.

Candidates should show relevant experience, learn local procedures quickly and meet any required statutory or professional standards.

Skills and Competencies
