Senior Chief Engineer-Roads & Facilities Maintenance (Only UAE National)

Job Overview

Provide senior technical leadership for road and facilities maintenance, helping keep public infrastructure safe, functional and available. The role oversees maintenance planning, service-provider performance, technical standards and corrective works. It coordinates with operations teams and contractors to prioritise maintenance needs, respond to urgent issues and use maintenance resources effectively while protecting service quality and public safety.

The work requires coordination across departments, delivery partners and technical specialists. Strong governance, accurate records and timely escalation are important because decisions can affect public infrastructure, service reliability and long-term asset performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Set maintenance priorities and review plans for roads, associated assets and facilities.
• Oversee inspections, condition assessments, corrective works and preventive-maintenance programmes.
• Monitor contractor performance, service levels, technical quality and compliance with relevant safety requirements.
• Review maintenance schedules, budgets and resource needs and recommend appropriate allocation.
• Coordinate urgent repairs and operational responses to defects that affect safety or service continuity.
• Prepare technical reports and use condition information to identify recurring problems and long-term improvements.

Requirements

Qualifications

• A degree in civil engineering, facilities engineering or another relevant engineering discipline is appropriate.
• Professional engineering training and experience managing maintenance programmes may be advantageous.
• Candidates should be comfortable reviewing technical reports, drawings, contracts and maintenance performance data.
