The nurse documents changes in condition, coordinates with treating physicians and other care professionals, and helps families understand care routines while protecting each patient’s dignity and privacy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and record vital signs, assess patient condition, recognise abnormal findings, and promptly communicate concerns to the treating physician.
  • Administer prescribed medicines and monitor intravenous infusions or parenteral therapies in line with the approved care plan.
  • Provide appropriate nursing care for clients with tracheostomy, gastrostomy, colostomy, pacemakers, peritoneal dialysis, or ventilator support when within authorised scope.
  • Support patients with neurological conditions, mobility limitations, terminal illness, and age-related care needs while maintaining comfort and safety.
  • Prepare accurate progress notes, coordinate services, educate family members, and share relevant changes with the clinical team.

Requirements

  • Hold a recognised nursing qualification and the licence or eligibility required to practise in Abu Dhabi.
  • Be confident following individual care plans, infection-prevention practices, medication procedures, and patient-safety protocols.
  • Be able to work independently in a home setting while escalating clinical changes without delay.
  • Maintain confidentiality and communicate respectfully with patients, family members, doctors, and colleagues.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Sound clinical observation, patient assessment, prioritisation, and documentation skills.
  • Practical knowledge of complex care procedures relevant to the assigned patient and approved scope of practice.
