Description
The Footwear Merchandiser supports category performance by planning assortments, reviewing sales and stock, coordinating allocations and helping ensure that the right products reach the right stores. The role combines numerical analysis with product awareness and regular collaboration across brand, buying, supply-chain and retail teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop merchandise plans using historical trends, current sales performance and outlook from the brand team.
- Analyse store profiles and reports covering stock weeks, sales mix and inventory by grade to inform allocation.
- Review in-season stock, markdown activity and sales performance, and recommend actions for bestsellers and slow movers.
- Plan product mix, initial allocations and reserve stock in line with pre-distribution plans.
- Prepare seasonal assortment plans and size-run books in collaboration with the Senior Merchandiser.
- Monitor competitor product lines, prices and category developments and share relevant market intelligence.
- Coordinate replenishment and inventory checks based on store needs, forecasts and upcoming events.
- Contribute to margin discussions, order placement, seasonal markdown planning and post-season category reviews.
Requirements and Skills
- Two to five years of retail merchandising or similar experience in fashion or lifestyle retail.
- Proficiency with inventory systems, Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- Good understanding of product strategy, vendor coordination, range development and trend analysis.
- A related bachelor’s degree is preferred.
- Strong analysis, organisation, communication and cross-functional coordination.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Retail Operations, Merchandising or related field preferred. Candidates should also demonstrate the role-related skills listed above and be able to collaborate effectively with colleagues and other stakeholders.
Employment Details
This is a full-time opportunity with Apparel Group. The listed location is Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Daily priorities will depend on operational requirements, team coordination and the standards relevant to the role.
A strong candidate will combine commercial awareness with careful stock analysis and practical decisions that improve availability, sell-through and margin performance.
