Foreman

The Foreman supervises preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance of water-cooled and air-cooled chillers and their supporting equipment. The work includes pumps, cooling towers, expansion tanks, piping networks, controls, and associated plant systems. The foreman organises daily activity for HVAC technicians, supports diagnosis of mechanical, electrical, and control faults, and ensures work is completed safely and efficiently in line with manufacturer guidance and site requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and supervise routine preventive maintenance of chillers, pumps, cooling towers, expansion tanks, and auxiliary equipment.
• Coordinate breakdown response and guide technicians through diagnosis and rectification of mechanical, electrical, and control-related faults.
• Allocate manpower, tools, materials, and access arrangements to meet operational priorities and service deadlines.
• Inspect completed work, verify system performance, and escalate issues that require specialist or manufacturer support.
• Maintain maintenance logs, equipment histories, service reports, and records of parts or materials used.
• Enforce HSE procedures, PPE, isolation practices, and housekeeping within plant rooms and work areas.

Requirements

• Practical experience maintaining chillers and associated HVAC equipment in commercial or residential facilities.
• Previous experience coordinating or supervising technical maintenance work is important.
• Ability to interpret equipment documentation, follow maintenance schedules, and identify recurring faults.
• Willingness to respond to urgent breakdowns and coordinate with site representatives as required.
