Emirati Talent- Manager, Mechanical Design is an opportunity to contribute to the day-to-day work of Majid Al Futtaim in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. The Mechanical Design Manager leads or coordinates mechanical design work from early concepts through detailed development and technical review. The role aims to ensure that design solutions meet project requirements, applicable standards, cost targets and coordination needs across disciplines.
Key Responsibilities
- Review mechanical design concepts, drawings, specifications and calculations to check completeness and design intent.
- Coordinate with architecture, electrical, civil, project management and specialist consultants to resolve design interfaces.
- Monitor technical submissions, design changes, programme priorities and issue resolution through project stages.
- Support value engineering, technical risk reviews and evaluation of alternative systems or materials.
- Maintain design documentation and communicate decisions, risks and recommendations clearly to stakeholders.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Relevant experience in mechanical engineering design, building services or a closely related technical discipline.
- Ability to interpret drawings, specifications, calculations and applicable design standards.
- Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams, consultants or technical reviews.
