Description

The position is responsible for overseeing all food and beverage operations, including culinary, restaurant, beverage, and room service. The role focuses on ensuring guest and employee satisfaction, maintaining operational and service standards, and achieving financial goals. The manager demonstrates a strong understanding of food and beverage regulations and leads the development and implementation of business strategies for the department.

Candidate Profile

Education and Experience Option 1:
  • High school diploma or GED; 4 years of experience in food and beverage, culinary, or a related professional area.
OR
Option 2:
  • 2-year degree from an accredited institution in Food Service Management, Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or a related major; 2 years of relevant experience.

Core Work Activities

1. Developing and Maintaining Budgets
  • Develops and manages financial plans and actions to achieve departmental goals, including employee engagement and guest satisfaction.
  • Maintains a positive cost management index for kitchen and restaurant operations.
  • Analyzes and utilizes budget data to guide financial decision-making.
2. Leading the Food and Beverage Team
  • Manages all food and beverage departments (excluding catering sales).
  • Supervises daily operations and provides leadership to team members.
  • Acts as a role model by leading with integrity and promoting sound business decisions.
  • Fosters a culture of motivation, empowerment, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
  • Provides proactive coaching, counseling, and support to employees.
  • Develops departmental goals and aligns them with broader property strategies.
  • Sets clear performance expectations and recognizes high achievement.
3. Ensuring Exceptional Customer Service
  • Drives a customer-focused culture that aligns with brand service standards.
  • Resolves guest issues promptly and professionally.
  • Continuously monitors and enhances service delivery to ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Ensures banquet functions and all service areas exceed guest expectations.
  • Communicates guest needs to staff and offers personalized service solutions.
  • Provides feedback and training to staff to ensure service excellence.
4. Managing and Conducting Human Resource Activities
  • Sets performance standards and evaluates employee performance.
  • Conducts timely performance reviews and supports employee development.
  • Promotes open communication, fairness, and employee engagement.
  • Identifies training needs and delivers or coordinates learning initiatives.
  • Develops action plans based on feedback from employee engagement and guest satisfaction surveys.
5. Additional Responsibilities
  • Complies with corporate accounting policies and controls.
  • Communicates effectively with team members and stakeholders via meetings, emails, and reports.
  • Analyzes data to identify problems and implement effective solutions.
  • Ensures robust internal communication through logs, meetings, and information-sharing platforms.
