Description
As a Culinary Associate, you will play a vital role in delivering a high-quality dining experience by preparing and cooking food according to standardized recipes and presentation guidelines. You will ensure each dish meets our brand's standards for flavor, portion, appearance, and food safety, while contributing to a smooth and efficient kitchen operation.
You will work alongside a collaborative culinary team and support the kitchen leadership by maintaining cleanliness, communicating kitchen needs, and helping train new associates. Your focus will be on maintaining excellence in preparation, safety, and guest satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items, including special meals or substitutes, following recipes and presentation standards.
- Monitor and regulate cooking equipment such as ovens, grills, broilers, and roasters to ensure food is cooked safely and to specification.
- Ensure proper portion control, garnishing, and presentation of all food items.
- Pull and thaw food from freezer storage; label and store properly according to food safety protocols.
- Maintain food logs and monitor food quality and quantity to minimize waste.
- Communicate with the Chef and Food & Beverage team regarding special menu items, shortages, and guest preferences.
- Assist with the preparation of cold food items such as salads, dressings, and sandwiches.
- Follow all sanitation, food safety, and HACCP guidelines to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment.
- Support the training and onboarding of new culinary team members; serve as a positive role model.
- Uphold all brand and company policies related to uniform, appearance, safety, and confidentiality.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with team members and other departments to ensure seamless service delivery.
- Respond promptly and professionally to guest and team member concerns or needs.
Physical & Safety Requirements
- Ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods of time.
- Ability to bend, reach, twist, and stoop frequently.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull items up to 25 pounds without assistance.
- Comply with all safety and security procedures, including proper use of kitchen equipment and PPE.
Preferred Qualifications
- Education: Technical, Trade, or Vocational School Degree in Culinary Arts or related field preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of relevant culinary experience in a fast-paced kitchen or hospitality setting.
- Supervision: No formal supervisory experience required; team-oriented leadership qualities desirable.
- Certifications: Food Safety or ServSafe certification is a plus (not required).
