Assistant Production Manager

The assistant production manager supports daily food-production operations, coordinating people, ingredients, equipment and production plans to deliver consistent quality and output. In a bakery or prepared-food environment, the role helps maintain recipes, hygiene standards, product presentation and timely completion of orders. This position is part of production management in bakery and food preparation and contributes to reliable, professional day-to-day delivery. The successful candidate will follow established procedures, maintain accurate information and work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve agreed standards.

Key Responsibilities

The main responsibilities include the following:

• Coordinate production shifts, task allocation and output against daily plans.
• Monitor product quality, recipe adherence, preparation methods and presentation standards.
• Check ingredient and packaging availability and coordinate replenishment with stores or purchasing.
• Ensure hygiene, food safety, cleaning and equipment procedures are followed.
• Support training, waste control, production reporting and improvements to workflow or consistency.

A practical understanding of the function, sound prioritisation and timely escalation will help protect quality, safety, cost and customer commitments.

Requirements and Qualifications

• A degree in food technology, production management, hospitality or a related field is relevant.
• Five to six years of relevant kitchen, bakery or production experience is a useful benchmark.
• Experience with bread, pastry, viennoiserie or hot/cold kitchen operations is beneficial.
• High-volume artisanal bakery experience is an advantage; Arabic and English are useful.

Candidates should show relevant experience, learn local procedures quickly and meet any required statutory or professional standards.
