Assistant Operations Manager-Transport

Transguard Group is seeking an Assistant Operations Manager – Transport in Dubai to support transport operations, fleet efficiency, staff performance, supplier coordination, and operational cost control. The role manages vehicle scheduling and route planning, monitors operational P&L and performance metrics, and leads initiatives that improve vehicle utilization and transportation efficiency. It also supports staff development and the use of GPS and Transport Management System tools.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage daily transport operations, driver schedules, vehicle allocation, and route planning.
• Monitor operational spending, budget variances, cost per head, and scorecard performance.
• Analyze vehicle, driver, and schedule patterns to improve fleet utilization and reduce transport costs.
• Implement fleet policies and operational procedures and maintain compliance requirements.
• Coordinate transport suppliers, new-route quotations, ad hoc requests, and service requirements.
• Maintain the transport risk register and follow up on reported vehicle and operational risks.
• Assess driver and staff performance and provide reports on strengths and development needs.
• Train, appraise, motivate, and support transport teams.
• Use GPS and TMS capabilities for smart routing and scheduling improvements.

Requirements

• Degree in Logistics is required; a bachelor’s degree is preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of transport-related experience.
• Experience in large fleet transport operations is required; passenger transport experience is advantageous.
• Strong operational, analytical, supplier-management, and team-leadership skills.
