Family Medicine Specialist

This position contributes to primary healthcare through professional judgement and collaboration. The successful candidate will deliver agreed objectives, maintain accurate records and support consistent, high-quality outcomes within the department’s priorities and approved scope.

Key Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive first-contact care for patients across age groups, assessing acute symptoms, managing common and chronic conditions, and coordinating preventive healthcare. Take medical histories, perform examinations, order and interpret appropriate investigations, prescribe treatment within scope, and arrange referrals when specialist input is needed. Support vaccination, screening, health education and long-term condition management. Maintain accurate electronic records, review outcomes, communicate clearly with patients and families, and work with nursing and allied-health colleagues to ensure continuity and safe follow-up.

Requirements and Qualifications

Applicants need a recognized medical degree, postgraduate training or qualification in family medicine, and a current licence or eligibility for the applicable UAE health-authority category. Clinical experience should match the advertised specialist level. Candidates should demonstrate broad clinical knowledge, careful assessment, patient-centred communication, ethical practice, accurate documentation and an ongoing commitment to professional development.
