Dairy Technologist

The dairy technologist supports manufacturing processes that convert milk and dairy ingredients into safe, consistent products. The position monitors process parameters, checks product quality and coordinates with production, laboratory and maintenance colleagues to maintain hygiene, traceability and efficient operation of automated equipment. This position is part of dairy processing and product technology and contributes to reliable, professional day-to-day delivery. The successful candidate will follow established procedures, maintain accurate information and work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve agreed standards.

Key Responsibilities

The main responsibilities include the following:

• Monitor assigned dairy processes, product parameters and equipment operation against approved specifications.
• Check process and quality records, investigate deviations and escalate out-of-limit results.
• Support hygiene, sanitation, traceability and food-safety practices throughout the production process.
• Coordinate with production, laboratory and maintenance teams to address equipment or process issues.
• Maintain documentation and contribute to process improvement, waste reduction and consistent product quality.

A practical understanding of the function, sound prioritisation and timely escalation will help protect quality, safety, cost and customer commitments.

Requirements and Qualifications

• A recognised qualification or training in dairy technology, food technology or a closely related field is relevant.
• One to two years of dairy or FMCG manufacturing experience is useful.
• Knowledge of automated process controls, food-safety standards and lean practices is beneficial.
• Working knowledge of SAP, Excel and English-language production records is an advantage.

Candidates should show relevant experience, learn local procedures quickly and meet any required statutory or professional standards.
