Chief Specialist – Artificial Intelligence and DataScience

As the Chief Specialist – AI, you will drive high-impact projects across the organization—from strategy to delivery—fostering a culture of innovation and ensuring alignment with RTA’s Digital Vision and AI Roadmap.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead implementation of the AI Strategy, aligning with RTA’s digital transformation objectives and national AI vision.
• Design, prototype, and implement AI-powered solutions leveraging machine learning, deep learning, NLP, computer vision, robotics, and generative AI.
• Develop and maintain RTA’s AI roadmap, governance model, standards, and scalable methodologies.
• Oversee AI project lifecycles including use case identification, PoC development, solution testing, vendor evaluation, and full-scale deployment.
• Collaborate with cross-departmental teams and external agencies to embed AI in transport planning, operations, customer services, and infrastructure.
• Build and lead a high-performing AI team, mentoring talent and fostering a learning-focused, agile environment.
• Conduct global research and benchmarking, identify emerging trends, and recommend innovative applications of AI for government and mobility services.
• Drive KPI development, impact assessment, and continuous optimization of delivered AI projects.
• Ensure compliance with data governance, ethics, privacy, and UAE’s regulatory frameworks related to AI and automation.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field
  (Master’s or Ph.D. in AI/ML/Data Science preferred)
• Minimum 11 years of experience in AI or machine learning, with at least 5 years in a leadership or strategic role driving enterprise-level AI initiatives.
• Proven experience delivering production-grade AI solutions, managing full project lifecycles, and aligning AI capabilities to business objectives.

Technical Skills

• Expertise in:
  • Machine learning, deep learning, neural networks, reinforcement learning, generative AI
  • AI/ML platforms: TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, Caffe
  • Languages: Python, Java, Scala, R, or C++
  • Experience working with structured and unstructured data, real-time analytics, and large-scale deployments
• Proficient in Agile/Scrum methodologies, DevOps practices, and project management for AI initiatives
