Assistant Manager-Facilities Management Hard Services

The assistant manager helps oversee hard-services maintenance and technical service delivery across assigned facilities. Working with engineers, technicians and contractors, the role supports asset reliability, planned maintenance, response to breakdowns, compliance and consistent delivery against contract requirements. This position is part of facilities management hard services and contributes to reliable, professional day-to-day delivery. The successful candidate will follow established procedures, maintain accurate information and work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve agreed standards.

Key Responsibilities

The main responsibilities include the following:

• Coordinate planned preventive maintenance and reactive work for building systems and technical assets.
• Review work orders, inspection results, outstanding defects and maintenance performance with site teams.
• Support contractor supervision, work permits, method statements and safe access to technical areas.
• Monitor spare parts, equipment condition, service response and repair quality.
• Compile reports and follow up on corrective actions, customer requests and repeated asset failures.

A practical understanding of the function, sound prioritisation and timely escalation will help protect quality, safety, cost and customer commitments.

Requirements and Qualifications

• Experience in facilities maintenance, engineering services or hard-services contract operations is beneficial.
• A diploma or degree in mechanical, electrical, building services or a related discipline is preferred.
• Working knowledge of MEP systems, planned maintenance, safety procedures and contractor coordination is important.
• Candidates should be able to interpret technical reports and communicate priorities clearly.

Candidates should show relevant experience, learn local procedures quickly and meet any required statutory or professional standards.

Skills and Competencies

Practical engineering judgement, planning, safety awareness and attention to records are central to this position. Good coordination skills help align technicians, specialist vendors and customers while maintaining service continuity.
