Senior Registered Nurse – Endoscopy

This position contributes to endoscopy nursing through professional judgement and collaboration. The successful candidate will deliver agreed objectives, maintain accurate records and support consistent, high-quality outcomes within the department’s priorities and approved scope.

Key Responsibilities

Coordinate nursing care before, during and after endoscopic procedures, ensuring patient identity, consent, preparation and safety checks are completed. Assess patients, review relevant clinical information, prepare equipment and procedure rooms, assist the clinical team, monitor patients during sedation and recovery within scope, and recognize complications requiring urgent escalation. Maintain aseptic practice, reprocess instruments according to policy, manage supplies and ensure complete documentation. Support patient education, discharge instructions, infection prevention, incident reporting and quality audits while guiding colleagues and maintaining efficient workflow.

Requirements and Qualifications

Applicants should hold a recognized nursing qualification and a valid licence or registration accepted by the relevant regulator. Substantial nursing experience, preferably in endoscopy, procedural care or a related specialty, is expected for a senior role. Current life-support certification and knowledge of sedation monitoring, infection control and emergency response may be required. Leadership, attention to detail, communication and the ability to prioritize safely are important.
