Procurement Specialist

Job Overview

Khalifa University is seeking a Procurement Specialist for its Procurement and Contracts department. The role supports university-wide purchasing of goods and services, working with internal departments and suppliers to achieve quality, timely delivery, policy compliance and value for money.

Key Responsibilities

• Process purchase requisitions, purchase orders and change orders in line with approved plans and budgets.
• Prepare RFQs/RFPs, identify suitable suppliers and compare market offerings.
• Coordinate with local, regional and international suppliers and maintain supplier records.
• Negotiate with suppliers to secure value, reliable service and timely delivery.
• Maintain procurement reports, price lists and quotation-comparison records.
• Coordinate supplier evaluations with requesting departments and provide updates on requisitions.
• Handle urgent purchasing requirements and support procurement activities across university departments.
• Follow procurement procedures, confidentiality, information-security and workplace-safety requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or equivalent.
• 2–5 years of relevant procurement experience.
• Knowledge of sourcing, vendor selection, product specifications and contract management.
• Working knowledge of procurement planning, vendor management, inventory and logistics.
• Strong communication, collaboration, customer-service and quality-focus skills.
• Certified Purchasing Professional (CPP) certification is an advantage.
