Associate Professor- Mathematics

Job Responsibilities:

Faculty members are expected to contribute through a balanced combination of:

1. Dissemination of knowledge through undergraduate and/or graduate teaching
2. Research, scholarly, or other creative activities
3. University, community, and professional service

Experience and Responsibilities

Teaching:

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses as assigned by the Department Chair
• Prepare instructional materials including course outlines, syllabi, and lesson plans; regularly update subject content as appropriate
• Contribute to the development, planning, and implementation of a high-quality curriculum
• Provide students with detailed course information, including syllabus, instructional methods, and evaluation criteria
• Participate in the selection of textbooks and other instructional resources
• Monitor student performance and provide academic support or remedial instruction when necessary
• Design, administer, and assess examinations, assignments, lab work, and other course-related activities
• Utilize modern instructional technologies to ensure effective and consistent course delivery
• Supervise student research, practical work, and thesis projects; participate in thesis evaluation
• Engage in peer review processes related to teaching and research
• Supervise teaching internships
• Continuously develop and enhance teaching effectiveness and subject matter expertise

Research, Scholarly, and Creative Activities:

• Conduct research and produce publications or other scholarly outputs, aligned with goals set during performance reviews
• Engage in scholarly or creative activities relevant to the discipline, and disseminate results through peer-reviewed forums
• Present research papers at academic and professional conferences, seminars, and workshops
• Participate in panels and discussions at regional and international professional events
• Identify funding opportunities and successfully secure research grants or external funding

Qualifications and Experience:

• A Ph.D. or equivalent terminal degree in a related discipline from a recognized institution
• A minimum of 8 years of relevant academic experience, including at least 5 years at the rank of Assistant Professor at a recognized institution
