Level Shoes is seeking a Senior Magento Developer to help build and improve its digital commerce experience. The role combines hands-on engineering with technical ownership of reliable, secure and scalable online retail functionality. The successful candidate will work with product, design, merchandising and operations colleagues to deliver features that support product discovery, shopping, checkout and post-purchase service.
Job Overview
This position contributes to the customer, commercial or operational goals of Chalhoub Group. The successful candidate will carry out the responsibilities below while working with relevant colleagues and following established policies, standards and processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, customise and maintain Magento-based commerce features, extensions and integrations.
- Translate business and product requirements into maintainable technical designs and implementation plans.
- Improve site speed, stability, accessibility and security, and investigate production incidents.
- Integrate storefront functionality with payment, catalogue, inventory, order and customer systems.
- Review code, write and maintain tests, document technical decisions and support controlled releases.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Strong professional experience developing and maintaining Magento commerce applications.
- Working knowledge of PHP, object-oriented programming, APIs, databases and modern web technologies.
- Experience with performance optimisation, debugging, version control, testing and deployment workflows.
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and explain technical trade-offs clearly.
Skills and Competencies
The role calls for sound engineering judgement, a customer-focused approach, attention to security and data quality, and the ability to balance delivery speed with long-term maintainability. Experience with high-traffic retail systems and third-party integrations is useful. Candidates should communicate clearly, manage priorities responsibly and contribute to a respectful team environment.
