About The Role
As Executive Chef, you are responsible for creating world-class and elevated dining experiences across the QR lounge network. You will oversee the entire culinary lounge operations (hub & outstations), including mentoring, training, and guiding all food production and support employees. You will design menus tailored to specific regions, styles, and demographics that meet business and customer needs. As well, you will actively manage sourcing, procurement, supply, preparation, production, and service of all food & beverage-related services and menu items in accordance with agreed SOPs and standards. You will take full responsibility for all department P&L, budgets, and KPIs, with a particular focus on food costings and wastage, ensuring financial performance remains in line with (and, where possible, exceed) expectations.
Key Accountabilities Include, But Are Not Limited To:
- Build an inspiring ‘food philosophy’ that incorporates the latest food trends, styles, ingredients, and consumer eating habits to ensure a memorable and unique proposition across all lounges.
- Curate personalized culinary experiences for customers that are designed to delight and exceed expectations.
- Deliver a world-class and premium lounge food program that is considered ‘best in class,’ retaining its position in the top three global airports.
- Leverage broad food knowledge and creativity in designing menus with international and regional appeal.
- Design and evolve menus that reflect global trends and premium standards, aligned with QR brand identity.
- Promote sustainable kitchen practices and leverage modern culinary technology to support long-term efficiency and environmental goals.
- Manage food safety staff training, adhering to regulations, and maintaining a clean and sanitary environment with proper records.
- Responsible for creating policies, enforcing standards, and ensuring compliance with food safety protocols.
- Develop menus with frequent rotations, with consideration to food trends, seasonality, festivals and holidays.
- Ensure food offerings align with customer needs, including health-conscious choices, allergy requirements, special diets, and menu variety.
- Monitor, coordinate and facilitate preparation of food in production areas to drive product quality and estimate requirements according to the new menus (food products, equipment’s, and manpower requirement).
- Work with all Qatar Airways support services to ensure all products align with expected quality and are delivered in a timely manner.
- Study the lounge requirements, and recommend the most optimum solutions for partnerships, collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to achieve best in class food and beverage, within the cost and budget parameters.
- Oversees the development and implementation of SOPs required to operate equipment and processes.
- Champion leadership development and skill progression across the culinary team.

Qualifications
About you
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and skills:
- High School / Vocational Qualification / Diploma plus minimum 9 years of relevant job-related experience; or
- Bachelor Degree or equivalent plus minimum 8 years of relevant job-related experience
Preferred Skills And Experience:
- Experienced Executive Chef with a proven track record of defining culinary strategy for international airports or five-star hospitality establishments.
- Demonstrated leadership of multicultural culinary teams.
- Strong financial acumen and experience in menu planning, costing, procurement, and overall departmental P&L.
- Graduate of a culinary school or certified culinary professional program/diploma/degree; professional cooking certification is highly desirable.
- In-depth working knowledge of menu cycles, uplifts, sectors, and equipment.
- Excellent knowledge of BOH systems, ordering, and inventory.
- Previous experience in managing quality or staff engagement units in an international airline, catering or hotel industry (preferred)
