The Senior Manager - Category leads strategic sourcing so procurement supports continuity, cost discipline and service requirements. The role covers supplier contracts, sourcing alternatives, spend monitoring and urgent purchasing needs. It also involves addressing vendor issues, monitoring compliance and resolving risks that could affect delivery, cost or service performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee end-to-end sourcing and confirm materials or services meet specifications and delivery timelines.
- Manage supplier contracts and renewals, tracking obligations and addressing disputes promptly.
- Review spend, identify savings and drive value engineering or alternative sourcing where appropriate.
- Coordinate urgent procurement needs when breakdowns or unexpected issues threaten operational service levels.
- Support audits, monitor procurement non-compliances and report supplier or contract risks to stakeholders.
Requirements and Qualifications
A minimum of 15 years of experience across procurement, contracts, category management, vendor management and risk management is required. Strong commercial judgement and quick responses to urgent service requirements are important.
