Description
The Manager Compliance - AML vacancy is part of the Compliance - Anti-Money Laundering function at Mashreq in the United Arab Emirates. The Manager will support the bank’s anti-money-laundering and financial-crime compliance framework. The role involves advising business teams, reviewing escalations, overseeing investigations and helping ensure that controls and procedures remain aligned with applicable legal and regulatory obligations. The successful candidate will contribute to dependable delivery, accurate records and a professional experience for the customers and colleagues supported by the role.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide guidance to business units on AML, counter-terrorist-financing and related financial-crime requirements.
- Review escalated alerts or cases, coordinate investigations and ensure that concerns are handled within policy timelines.
- Monitor the effectiveness of AML controls and identify gaps requiring remediation or management attention.
- Work with operations, risk and business teams to strengthen customer due diligence and transaction-monitoring practices.
- Prepare compliance updates, maintain clear case records and support regulatory or internal review requirements.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Available role information indicates approximately ten to twelve years of banking experience, including at least five years in AML or financial-crime compliance.
- ACAMS or another recognised AML qualification is indicated as relevant.
- Experience with transaction-monitoring systems, investigations and regulatory requirements is important.
