Junior Cargo Assistant – dnata Cargo

The Junior Cargo Assistant supports the safe and efficient movement of air freight, courier items and mail through import and export operations. The role combines physical cargo handling with documentation, inventory checks and customer service. Accuracy is important at each stage, from acceptance and inspection through build-up, breakdown, dispatch and delivery, so that shipments are tracked correctly and handled according to operational standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate cargo, courier and mail acceptance and delivery while maintaining courteous and helpful customer service.
• Check shipments and supporting paperwork at each handover, confirming that quantities, labels and details meet operating requirements.
• Support porters and equipment operators during cargo build-up and breakdown, helping work progress safely and efficiently.
• Record accepted and delivered goods in manual or automated systems so that shipment movements can be traced.
• Conduct customer-requested inventory checks, record discrepancies and alert the appropriate supervisor to damaged, missing or irregular items.
• Assist relevant officials and operational teams to support compliant cargo movement and orderly import/export processing.

Requirements and Qualifications

• At least 10 years of schooling or an equivalent educational background.
• Three or more years of experience in logistics, freight handling or a cargo-related role.
• Basic knowledge of cargo documentation, shipment identification, inventory control and safe handling practices.
• Introductory civil aviation training is an advantage; candidates must be able to follow workplace and cargo-security procedures.

Employment Details

Full-time role based in Dubai. The work may involve warehouse and cargo-terminal activity, shift-based operations, moving goods and following health, safety, quality, environmental and security procedures.
