Manager | AI Development & Operations | UAE Nationals Only

To lead RTA’s enterprise-wide Artificial Intelligence (AI) development, deployment, and operations. The role ensures the delivery of scalable, secure, and reliable AI platforms and solutions that align with RTA’s vision, operational goals, and the UAE’s national digital and AI strategies. The incumbent will be responsible for technical governance, cross-functional collaboration, and strategic oversight of AI implementation and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the AI Development & Operations Section, managing strategy execution, team performance, and project delivery.
• Oversee the development and implementation of AI roadmaps, platforms, and large-scale solutions across RTA.
• Ensure technical readiness and continuous monitoring of AI infrastructure to guarantee platform reliability and performance.
• Drive cross-departmental coordination with IT and data teams to enable seamless integration, scalability, and secure AI operations.
• Supervise the testing, validation, and deployment of AI applications, ensuring compliance with RTA’s quality, cybersecurity, and performance standards.
• Manage AI vendor relationships, contracts, licensing, and technical partnerships, aligning them with enterprise requirements.
• Coordinate data integration efforts, ensuring that AI platforms have access to quality data pipelines across departments.
• Develop and enforce AI governance frameworks, including compliance with national regulations, ethical AI practices, and responsible innovation.
• Champion training, documentation, and user enablement programs to promote AI literacy and adoption across RTA.
• Ensure full adherence to Information Security (IS) policies, incident management procedures, and regular audits.

Education & Certifications

• Required: Bachelor’s degree in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Data Science, or a closely related field.
• Preferred: Master’s degree in AI, Machine Learning, or Data Engineering.
• Relevant certifications in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), AI/ML (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch), or RPA tools are advantageous.

Experience

• Minimum of 11 years of progressive experience in AI development, technical operations, and enterprise platform management.
• Proven experience in delivering and scaling AI solutions in a government, transportation, or enterprise environment.
• Demonstrated leadership managing cross-functional AI/ML teams, platform support, and solution lifecycle governance.

Skills & Competencies

• Proficiency in AI/ML development environments, cloud-native platforms, and MLOps frameworks.
• Deep understanding of AI platform scalability, performance tuning, and monitoring tools.
• Strong knowledge of data engineering, API integration, and orchestration tools.
• Familiarity with AI governance, ethics compliance, and data privacy standards (GDPR, UAE regulations).

• Excellent stakeholder management across business, IT, and executive leadership.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills; ability to bridge technical and business language.
• Track record of delivering AI transformation initiatives that improve operations and customer outcomes.
• Ability to develop long-term capability plans, lead change management, and foster a data-driven culture.
