Description

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Health & Safety Advisor to join our dynamic team. This role is responsible for implementing and monitoring Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) management systems across Transguard worksites in line with ISO 45001, ISO 14001, UAE legislation, and client-specific standards. The Advisor will play a key role in cultivating a safety-first culture, ensuring legal compliance, conducting audits, managing incidents, and delivering awareness and job-specific training.

Key Responsibilities

Financial / Compliance
  • Implement company and client HSE policies in compliance with ISO 45001:2018 and ISO 14001:2015.
  • Advise internal stakeholders on legal and operational safety compliance, ensuring alignment with local laws, OSHAD, and industry standards.
  • Conduct safety inspections and audits to identify hazards and recommend control measures.
  • Ensure safety compliance at Transguard accommodations, including building safety assessments.
Customer & Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Coordinate with clients’ HSE representatives to ensure Transguard staff are aligned with site-specific safety protocols.
  • Conduct occupational risk and environmental impact assessments in collaboration with business units.
  • Deliver awareness sessions and job-specific HSE training to operatives to promote safety culture.
  • Support implementation of Permit to Work (PTW) systems and Safe Systems of Work where applicable.
  • Attend client and stakeholder meetings related to Health & Safety matters as needed.
Process & Operational Excellence
  • Prepare and maintain all HSE documentation required before site mobilization, ensuring they are reviewed and updated regularly.
  • Maintain accurate and timely recordkeeping in shared platforms (e.g., SharePoint) for audits, training, incident reports, etc.
  • Conduct internal audits and support external audit readiness.
Innovation & Continuous Improvement
  • Lead incident investigations, perform root cause analysis, and recommend preventative actions.
  • Monitor lagging indicators to identify patterns and systemic risks, suggesting targeted interventions.
  • Contribute to enhancing safety systems, including firefighting equipment and emergency response readiness.
  • Encourage staff ownership of HSE practices through coaching and role modeling.

Candidate Profile

Education & Certifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Occupational Health & Safety, or related field.
  • Recognized Health & Safety qualification (e.g., NEBOSH IGC, NVQ, etc.) – Required.
  • Lead/Internal Auditor certification in ISO 45001 or ISO 14001Preferred.
  • First Aid and Basic Firefighting training – Required.
  • Additional environment-related certifications – Desirable.
Experience
  • 4–5 years of experience in a Health & Safety role, preferably in outsourcing, construction, aviation, or facilities management sectors.
  • Experience in airport or high-risk environments is an advantage.
Technical & Functional Skills
  • Strong knowledge of UAE HSE legislation, OSHAD, and local municipality regulations.
  • Competence in implementing HSE management systems and safety documentation.
  • Understanding of fire safety systems, risk assessment techniques, and incident investigation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and report writing.
  • Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
  • Valid UAE driving licenseRequired.
