Internal Auditor, Sharjah, UAE

Conduct risk-based audit reviews and evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls across group operations. The auditor examines processes, systems and supporting evidence, identifies control gaps and recommends practical actions to reduce risk and protect company interests. The role may cover operational, financial, compliance and IT processes across departments and affiliated businesses, requiring careful analysis, clear reporting and professional engagement with process owners.

Key Responsibilities

• Contribute to the risk-based annual audit plan and complete assigned audits according to approved schedules.
• Review operational, financial, compliance and information-technology controls across relevant business functions.
• Assess evidence, transaction samples, process documentation and system controls to identify exceptions or emerging risks.
• Prepare clear working papers, audit findings and recommendations that address root causes and practical corrective actions.
• Follow up with stakeholders on agreed actions and report overdue or unresolved control weaknesses.
• Support group-level governance by reviewing relevant intercompany transactions and controls across subsidiaries or affiliates.

Requirements

• Bring approximately 4–5 years of internal audit experience, preferably in aviation or another service industry.
• Apply a risk-based approach and demonstrate sound understanding of internal controls and business operations.
• Maintain independence, confidentiality, attention to detail and professional judgement.
• Write clear audit reports and communicate findings tactfully to senior and operational stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Qualified Chartered Accountant or equivalent qualification such as CPA or ACCA.
• CIA or another recognised internal-audit certification is highly desirable.
• Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills and strong English are required; Arabic is an advantage.
