Senior Engineer-Roads Urban Design (UAE National)

Job Overview

Coordinate road urban-design studies and technical reviews to ensure road works are integrated with attractive, accessible and sustainable public spaces. The engineer checks drawings and contractor proposals, visits sites to verify materials and workmanship, and supports project completion and handover. This role contributes to consistent methods, design standards and streetscape guidance for infrastructure projects across Dubai.

The work requires coordination across departments, delivery partners and technical specialists. Strong governance, accurate records and timely escalation are important because decisions can affect public infrastructure, service reliability and long-term asset performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Review contractor design submissions and drawings for accuracy and compliance with approved technical requirements.
• Conduct site visits to validate construction against the approved urban-design concept, materials and specifications.
• Coordinate reinstatement and remaining areas affected by road works with relevant municipal stakeholders.
• Track design studies, project follow-ups, cost allocations and contractual expectations.
• Coordinate handovers to the responsible departments and prepare reports or supporting memorandums when required.
• Contribute to improved work methods, technical manuals and guidance for public art, signs and beautification.

Requirements

Qualifications
