Regional Training Officer

The regional training officer supports employee capability across assigned locations by coordinating training needs, delivering or arranging learning activities and checking whether staff can apply required procedures. The role works with managers to improve service, compliance and performance through practical coaching. This position is part of regional training and frontline capability development and contributes to reliable, professional day-to-day delivery. The successful candidate will follow established procedures, maintain accurate information and work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve agreed standards.

Key Responsibilities

The main responsibilities include the following:

• Assess learning needs with site managers and translate gaps into training plans.
• Deliver or coordinate induction, refresher and role-specific sessions across locations.
• Prepare learning materials, attendance records and competency assessments.
• Observe performance after training and provide coaching or recommend additional support.
• Track completion, feedback and learning outcomes and prepare regular reports.

A practical understanding of the function, sound prioritisation and timely escalation will help protect quality, safety, cost and customer commitments.

Requirements and Qualifications

• A diploma or undergraduate qualification is relevant.
• Around three years of training, supervision or a related operational role is useful.
• Experience developing learning materials and delivering sessions is beneficial.
• English communication, presentation skills and confidence coaching frontline staff are important.

Candidates should show relevant experience, learn local procedures quickly and meet any required statutory or professional standards.

Skills and Competencies

The officer needs facilitation, planning, communication and practical assessment skills. The ability to adapt delivery to different sites and workforces while keeping records consistent helps training produce measurable improvements.
