Description
The Chief Specialist will provide technical leadership for vehicle inspection standards, policies, systems and service quality across vehicle categories. The role combines regulatory expertise with field oversight and innovation, including the adaptation of inspection practices for electric, hybrid and autonomous vehicles and the use of digital technologies for smarter supervision. This is a full-time opportunity based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and review technical inspection standards, policies and legislative frameworks for conventional and emerging vehicle technologies.
- Lead technical studies, benchmarking and feasibility assessments for modernization and expansion of vehicle inspection services.
- Evaluate opportunities to use AI, IoT and machine learning to improve inspection accuracy, remote supervision and predictive maintenance.
- Support capacity planning, site selection and equipment-upgrade strategies using demand and demographic information.
- Oversee calibration, maintenance and compliance of inspection equipment and conduct field audits of authorized inspection centers.
- Review technical specifications for inspection equipment, suppliers and center infrastructure and monitor inspection outcomes and data integrity.
- Coordinate with regulatory and enforcement bodies during joint inspections involving vehicle safety, dimensions, axle loads and driver compliance.
- Standardize inspection procedures, classification systems and digital workflows, while leading training and awareness programs for inspection-center teams.
Requirements
Candidates should demonstrate the technical knowledge, analytical ability and stakeholder skills needed to operate effectively in a structured public-sector environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- At least 8 years of professional experience.
- Strong understanding of vehicle inspection, automotive safety, technical standards and regulatory compliance.
- Ability to evaluate inspection equipment, digital systems and emerging vehicle technologies.
- Strong audit, technical-reporting, stakeholder-management and training capabilities.
- Willingness to undertake regular field visits to inspection centers and partner facilities.
