Dry Cleaner

Position Summary

As a Laundry Attendant, you are responsible for ensuring all linen, garments, and uniforms are properly sorted, cleaned, pressed, and returned according to brand and operational standards. You will operate commercial laundry equipment, treat stains, perform minor repairs, and respond to guest and employee laundry requests with efficiency and care.

Your role contributes directly to the cleanliness and comfort of guest accommodations and the professional appearance of hotel staff. A focus on detail, safety, and service excellence is essential in maintaining the hotel’s reputation for high standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive, inspect, and document soiled linens, uniforms, guest clothing, and other laundered items.
• Identify and treat stained or damaged items appropriately before processing.
• Operate and monitor washers, dryers, and dry-cleaning machines, including adding detergents and chemicals as required.
• Clean dryer lint traps and ensure machinery is maintained in safe working order.
• Press, fold, and organize laundered articles using hand irons or press machines.
• Hand wash delicate or special-care garments when needed.
• Maintain accurate records of laundry activity including items processed, delivered, and returned.
• Respond promptly and professionally to guest laundry, dry cleaning, pressing, and minor repair requests.
• Deliver laundered items to guest rooms or internal departments as needed.

Standards & Conduct

• Follow all safety protocols and company operating procedures related to chemical handling, equipment use, and personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Report equipment issues, accidents, or safety concerns to the appropriate supervisor.
• Maintain a clean, professional appearance and wear appropriate uniform and name badge at all times.
• Maintain confidentiality of guest and company information.
• Communicate clearly and respectfully with team members, guests, and supervisors.
• Uphold company service standards, demonstrating a warm and courteous demeanor at all times.

Physical & Work Conditions

• Able to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods during shifts.
• Lift, push, pull, or carry items weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance.
• Perform physical tasks involving reaching, bending, twisting, stooping, or kneeling.
• Handle laundry items of various sizes and textures quickly and efficiently.

Preferred Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
• Experience: Less than 1 year of related laundry or housekeeping experience preferred
• Supervisory Experience: Not required
• Licenses/Certifications: None required
