Lecturer/Senior Lecturer- Academic Writing

About the Job

The General Education Unit invites applications for Lecturer/Senior Lecturer (English) positions in Academic Writing. The successful candidate will teach freshman academic English (composition) and student/career development courses, starting January 2026. While independent research is not required, an interest in applying recent research to enhance teaching is welcomed.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

• Teach academic English (composition) courses to undergraduate students.
• Deliver student and career development courses.
• Contribute to materials development, assessment design.
• Support student extracurricular activities.
• Apply research-informed practices to teaching and curriculum development.

Qualifications & Experience

• Master’s degree in a relevant field (English, Rhetoric & Composition, Applied Linguistics, TESOL, or related).
• PhD/EdD holders must demonstrate a strong publication record in top-tier (Q1) journals.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant teaching experience for Lecturer rank.
• Minimum 8 years of relevant teaching experience for Senior Lecturer rank.
• Proven experience teaching academic writing at recognized, top-tier institutions.
• Experience in the UAE, as well as in materials development, assessment, and course coordination, is highly valued.
